March has been a wonderful month of travels and celebrations. I am so fortunate to have a few of my closest friends embark on a journey of new beginnings. These new celebrations have led me to travel to the most unique locations.
Mid March led me on a plane with the bridal party of an upcoming wedding for a weekend trip to Montreal. We got to experience great French Canadian culture touring the city while walking alongside the river to see the unique European-esque architecture.
The hotel we stayed at was unfortunately under renovation which became a constant eyesore when traveling through the outdated winding hallways. I personally did not enjoy our stay at the hotel, the concierge and staff were extremely rude and left us with an unforgettable impression. The only bonus to the hotel were the outdoor heated pools- the chilling cold mixed with the heat from the jacuzzi was a real afternoon treat. BIG TIP: remember to bring flip flops!! (I guess you win some and lose some)
I've said this many times and I stand by the statement the food in MTL is just phenomenal. The ingredients used are much fresher, more unique, and made with love. The food you order may take longer to get to your table then normal but they are able to accommodate to the most specific dietary restrictions which was fabulous for someone like me.
Oh and you have to eat poutine if you get to visit Montreal. My favourite place is the Montreal Poutine in Old Montreal.
Where are you off to in the next couple of months? Let me know :)
